KieranTimberlake is ISO 9001:2008 certified for the research, management, and delivery of architectural services.
This certification requires a rigorous auditing process and is rare among American architecture firms though more common in Europe. It is a standard established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) to define levels of quality that are recognized and respected internationally and is typically used by businesses that demand a high level of precision, such as the automobile and aerospace industries. We pursued this significant achievement, and undergo annual audits in order to ensure that planning, reflection, and learning are embedded into our everyday work, and to remain on a path of continual improvement.
To maintain our certification, we mapped over forty processes within the firm from the mundane to the sublime, which form the KieranTimberlake Management System (KTMS). This is used as a guide and a basis for making improvements to our design work and business practices. These processes are not dogmatic, but provide a flexible framework for working relationships. We ably and flexibly adapt to our clients' working preferences. This allows the design and the finished construction to be the focus of our efforts, and the purpose for which we come together to collaborate.
